    Victim of Georgetown crash on McClelland Circle identified

    UPDATE July 27, 4:50 p.m.

    The individual killed in a crash on July 26 on McClelland Circle in Georgetown has been identified as 50-year-old Timothy Crowe.

    Crowe was pronounced dead on scene as a result of injuries from the crash, the Scott County Coroner's Office confirmed.

    Another individual injured in the collision sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

    UPDATE July 26, 7:25 p.m.

    The Georgetown Police Department says that the crash occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. when a car driving south on McClelland Circle crossed the center line and collided with another car driving north.

    The driver of the car driving south died as a result of the accident, according to police.

    The roadway has been reopened.

    Original: A fatal collision occurred in Georgetown on McClelland Circle between Long Lick Pike and Betsy Way on Friday, officials report.

    The accident has left Betsy Way, as well as Long Lick Pike at the roundabout, shut down.

    The scene is being investigated by the Georgetown/Scott County Traffic Collision Reconstruction Unit.

    “We kindly ask that you avoid this area for the next couple of hours to allow our team to conduct their investigation safely,” said the Georgetown Police Department in a Facebook post.
