GIBSON CITY, Ill. (WCIA) – Even though Thursday was World Drive-In Theatre Day, people can still catch multiple features this weekend at Harvest Moon Twin Drive-in.

To celebrate 91 years of drive-in movies, Harvest Moon is playing movies this weekend that are either currently featured or were once featured before. This weekend, the drive-in is showing a double feature on each screen.

The newly released Bad Boys: Ride or Die and the classic Twister will be shown on one screen. On the other, they’ll be playing Grease and Dirty Dancing.

Harvest Moon’s owner Ben Harroun said drive-in theatres may not be as popular today, but it’s time to revitalize the tradition.

“We can’t do the pricing that people got for food 91 years ago, it just wasn’t going to work, but we are doing a two for $2.50 special with our value size popcorn,” he said. “So unlike going to the movie theatre where it’s going to cost you $15 to buy your food, you can bring out the whole family this weekend and feed everybody for like $10”

Harvest Moon will also be serving pink lemonade, chili cheese dogs and some other food specials for the event.
