    Southern Tomato Bread

    Enhance your dining experience with the delectable Southern Tomato Bread, a perfect side dish to complement your favorite soups, stews, or pasta dishes.

    Ingredients:

    • 3 cups of self-rising flour
    • 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/3 cup of canola oil
    • 1/3 cup of evaporated milk
    • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
    • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
    • 3 large tomatoes
    • Pasta sauce for topping

    Instructions:

    In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of self-rising flour and 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt. Mix in the egg, canola oil, evaporated milk, and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined. The batter should have a thick consistency.

    In a blender or food processor, pulse the chopped garlic, onion powder, and tomatoes until finely processed.

    Add the tomato mixture to the batter and mix well. The batter should remain thick.

    Grease a bread pan or oven-safe dish and pour the batter into it. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for approximately 30 minutes. Spread a few spoonfuls of pasta sauce over the top of the bread and continue baking for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.

    Serve the Southern Tomato Bread alongside chili, soup, stew, or pasta dishes. Enjoy!
