    Delectable French Toast

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, is a delightful occasion that many look forward to. Today, I had the pleasure of preparing French toast using slices of my homemade Country Breakfast Pancake Bread. However, feel free to use any type of bread you have available. Personally, I find that using day-old bread, also known as stale bread, yields the best results when making French toast.

    Ingredients:

    • 4 slices of bread (I used my homemade Country Breakfast Pancake Bread).
    • 3 to 4 eggs
    • 1/2 cup of milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
    • 1 to 2 teaspoons of granulated Splenda or sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract (optional)
    • 4 tablespoons of butter for the skillet

    Instructions:

In a square-shaped dish, crack the eggs and add 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 to 2 teaspoons of granulated Splenda or sugar. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.

Add 2 tablespoons of butter to a skillet and allow it to melt over medium heat. Cook 2 pieces of French toast at a time, adding the remaining butter to cook the other 2 pieces.

Dunk a slice of bread into the egg and milk mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated.

Place the coated bread into the hot skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until both sides are golden brown.

Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.

Serve the French toast on plates and top with your favorite syrup. Then serve and enjoy!
