Nacho Beef Taco Salad
Ready to dive into a delicious and satisfying meal? Nacho Beef Taco Salad is here to save the day! My recipe is a fun twist on the classic taco salad, incorporating crunchy tortilla chips for added texture and flavor. This hearty and vibrant meal can be easily customized to suit your preferences, making it a versatile option for any occasion. Additionally, for those who prefer to forgo the tortilla or corn chips, the salad can also be used as a delicious filling to stuff inside flour or corn tortillas.
Ingredients for Nacho Beef Taco Salad
2 pounds of ground beef
Ingredients for taco seasoning:
2 teaspoons of smoked paprika
1 tablespoon of chili powder
1 tablespoon of dried onion flakes
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of dried red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon of seasoning salt
1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
Additional Ingredients Needed:
1 15-ounce tetra-pak of Ragu Double Cheddar Sauce
Lettuce, chopped or shredded
Tomatoes diced
Onions diced
Optional Ingredients:
Sour cream for the dressing
Salsa for the dressing
Black olives
Avocado
Cilantro
Chives
Tortilla chips
Corn chips
Shredded cheese
Instructions:
In a spice dish, add 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika, 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 tablespoon of dried onion flakes, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of dried red pepper flakes, 1/2 teaspoon of seasoning salt, and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Stir well, and set aside.
In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the taco seasoning. Add the Ragu Double Cheddar Sauce. Stir well. Set aside to cool.
Wash and chop the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions into bite-sized pieces. Prepare any additional vegetables or toppings of your choice.
Making the Dressing
In a small bowl, mix sour cream and salsa to create a creamy and tangy dressing. Adjust the proportions to suit your taste preferences (optional).
Assembling the Nacho Beef Taco Salad
In a large casserole dish, add the cooked beef and cheese mixture and chopped vegetables. Stir well. Add tortilla chips or corn chips, if desired. (I prefer serving the chips separately because I dislike soggy chips.)
If desired, sprinkle extra toppings like crushed corn chips, shredded cheese, any additional add-ons, and a drizzle of dressing on top of the salad for a final touch.
Serve and enjoy your flavorful and satisfying Nacho Beef Taco Salad!
