DALLAS TWP. — If there was anything positive about a rain delay of one hour and 18 minutes Monday evening, it was that Plains had a lead. And when the game ended well later than expected, Plains had a 5-1 victory over Valley View in a Section 5 Little League Baseball elimination game at Back Mountain Little League.
Pittston Area softball team honored at school board meeting

The team’s 2024 season ended with a loss in extra innings to Thomas Jefferson in the PIAA Class 5A state championship game. The program’s success over the past half-decade, under the leadership of Frank Parente, has won the Lady Patriots much praise in the Pittston Area community. The school board can now be added to that list of admirers.

Coaches Comments: Logan, in his 1st year as a starter, has been exceptional. He has led the way all season in both blocking grade (96% average) and pancakes (50+ on the year). logan is about as sure as a thing you can get in a young lineman. His strength, footwork, technique, and effort are unmatched. High a football IQ player who uses good angles to his advantage. logan is a part of a line that has not surrendered a QB sack all season, anchored by himself. Logan was LL lineman of the week twice (week 4 and week 8). Logan’s work ethic is a great example for the young guys in our program. He’s an absolute asset.
