GLEN ROCK, NJ - Following their Little League District 4 Championships earlier this month, Glen Rock Little League's 10U and 12U teams completed the Section 1 Tournaments, with the best finishes in local history.

The 12U Team made it to the championship series and finished runner-up, losing to a powerhouse Morristown team.  Along the way, the team beat a Pequannock team that had gotten the best of them in past years and in the first game of this year's tournament, fighting the entire way.  This team has had an impressive run over the past few years and everyone in Glen Rock Little League is proud of their accomplishments. The team is preparing to go to Cooperstown and compete there.

The 10U Team took it one step further, winning the Little League Section 1 Championship in grand fashion.  With a 3-2 count, 2 outs, in the bottom of the 6th inning and bases loaded, Danny Lourido hit a walk-off single sending the team to the state tournament.  It was a total team effort to win the Section 1 tournament, with everyone contributing and playing a role.

No Glen Rock team has ever won the Section tournament, and now the boys will play in the state tournament starting this week in Hamilton, NJ.
