Early Friday morning, a 2.9-magnitude earthquake struck New Jersey, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The tremor occurred at 3:50 a.m., with the epicenter located approximately 4.3 miles from Gladstone.

This area has experienced seismic activity before, with at least two other quakes recorded nearby, the USGS reported. The epicenter of Friday's quake is situated about 45 miles west of New York City, causing minor tremors felt across the region.

No significant damage or injuries have been reported so far. However, the event has served as a reminder of the area's susceptibility to seismic activity. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed and prepared for potential aftershocks.

The USGS continues to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
