A cooling trend will continue across the Bay Area this weekend as an upper-level trough settles over the West Coast, bringing seasonal to slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures. According to the National Weather Service, inland temperatures are expected to range from the mid-70s to low 90s, while coastal areas will experience highs in the mid-50s to mid-60s.

The weekend forecast also includes increased early morning fog, stratus, and coastal drizzle, particularly in areas like western San Mateo County. Although there is some instability with the incoming trough, the chance of thunderstorms remains low, with less than a 10% probability, mainly in the North Bay.

The cooler conditions and coastal drizzle are expected to persist into next week as the trough continues to influence the region's weather.
