Australian National Open Team member Mariah Jones, named Australian Lifeguard of the Year, made a stellar debut in the Masters category with three gold medals in the Line Throw, 200m Obstacle Relay, and individual Manikin Carry. Jones, who first competed in the World Championships in 2012, praised the inclusive and supportive atmosphere of the Masters division.

Danish competitor Ronnie Dalsgaard, who now trains with Manly SLSC, won gold in the 50m Manikin Carry. Dalsgaard, who moved to Australia three years ago, is using the Masters competition as a warmup for the National team selections and values the opportunity to compete in a vibrant, competitive environment.

Record-breaking performances included Lisa Ferguson of Australia setting a new mark in the Women’s 40-44 100m Manikin Tow with Fins, and Francoise Bockstaele of Belgium in the Men’s 55-59 100m Manikin Tow with Fins. Other notable records were achieved by Shirley Kemp, Jennifer Whiteley, Joel Gitelson, Jeanette Libera-Korner, Sarah Windsor, and Gonzalo Chicharro Arderius across various age categories.
