Las Vegas is in for a sweltering stretch as unseasonably high temperatures are set to grip the area through Friday. The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning, with temperatures expected to soar 7-9 degrees above normal, peaking on Thursday. A strong high-pressure system will dominate the region, intensifying the heat.

In addition to the scorching temperatures, gusty northeast winds are anticipated to affect Clark County, with wind speeds reaching 20-30 mph in Laughlin and Bullhead City. A slight chance of showers or thunderstorms could develop Friday afternoon, particularly in the southern Sierra and eastern Mohave County, as a weather system moves into northern California. Cooler conditions are forecasted to return over the weekend, offering some relief from the extreme heat.
