The Northfield Public Schools and Carleton College announced Thursday that the college is pledging $2 Million to the Northfield High School renovation project. In an email to school district families from the Superintendent, Dr. Matt Hillmann, he expressed his thanks to Carleton, saying, “I’m humbled and so grateful on behalf of the school board, students, staff, families, and taxpayers of the Northfield School District.” Hillmann described the donation as a “historic investment” and a “unique milestone” as this is the first time a Minnesota Private College has made a donation towards a public school district bond referendum project.
Stratford volleyball finishes fifth at Onalaska Sprawl
ONALASKA – The Stratford volleyball team began its 2024 season with a 5-2 record and fifth-place finish at the Onalaska Sprawl on Wednesday and Thursday at the Omni Center. Stratford went 3-1 in pool play on Wednesday, defeating Ladysmith 25-14, 25-14; Iowa-Grant 25-10, 25-18; and Arcadia 25-12, 25-10; and losing to La Crosse Central 22-25, 25-20, 15-10.

ONALASKA, WI (WFRV) – Wisconsin welcomed home Sgt. Jack Hohlfeld Monday and gave him a proper burial that had been denied him for 80 years. “I kind of stopped paying attention actually,” admitted Great Nephew Steve Graw, “My mom Sharon has been working on this for over a decade and I kind of gave up hope that he would ever be returned. It came as a big shock to all of us.”
