3 injured in Ottawa County crash after driver runs red light, police say
OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – Three people were hurt in a Sunday morning crash after one driver ran a red light, Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said. Sheriff’s deputies responded to an 8:54 a.m. report of a two-vehicle crash Sunday, June 30, near U.S. 31 and James Street in Holland.

OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 3, 2024) – For the second time in six days, a sheriff’s deputy in Michigan will be laid to rest. Funeral services for William “Bill” Butler Jr. will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Hillsdale College Christ Chapel. The 51-year-old Hillsdale County deputy died after being shot by a suspect last Thursday. The suspect, 34-year-old Eric Fiddler of Jonesville, who had been wanted on several warrants, died in a shootout with police about four hours later. It’s the first time since 1930 a Hillsdale County police officer has died in the line of duty.

HUDSONVILLE — A local woman received jail time and probation after pleading no contest to aggravated domestic assault for allegedly ordering her dog to bite a man in May. Augustina Villarreal, 37, of Hudsonville, was sentenced to 75 days in the Ottawa County Jail and will serve 12 months' probation. Villarreal was sentenced Tuesday, July 2, in 58th District Court before Judge Judith Mulder.
