1 man killed in South Hero crash
SOUTH HERO, Vt. (WCAX) - Police say one man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in South Hero. It happened at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on US Route 2. Vermont State Police say Robert Goddard, 77, of Little River, South Carolina, was headed north in an SUV when he went off the road and hit a cement culvert. Troopers say Goddard died of his injuries.
Suspect arrested in Burlington assault, robbery
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A South Burlington man who was out on probation for a shooting in 2021 is back behind bars. Police in Burlington say Bonide Badibanga, 22, is one of multiple suspects who robbed and assaulted two people on Main Street in Burlington at about 3 a.m. Friday.
Pennsylvania Man Sentenced To Over 8 Years For Drug Trafficking In Vermont
The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont announced that Ronald Harris, 32, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on Wednesday by Chief United States District Judge Geoffrey Crawford to 100 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release. Harris had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine base, fentanyl, and heroin.
Pedestrian hit by truck at transfer station
TYPE OF EVENT(S): Injury crash. LOCATION OF EVENT(S): Casella transfer station East Montpelier. INVESTIGATING INSPECTOR(S): Inspector Jacobs and Lieutenant Shelp. SUMMARY: VT DMV Enforcement and Safety responded to a report of a commercial motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash with injuries at the Casella transfer station in East Montpelier. Upon arrival, Zebulon Maynard, 42 of Duxbury, VT had been transported from the scene by EMS. During the investigation it was learned that Ryan Myers, 35 of Colchester, VT, was operating a 2018 Western Star roll-off container truck and was backing into the transfer station.
