Dallas police investigate early morning fatal shooting
DALLAS, Texas — A man was found shot and killed early Sunday morning in Dallas, police say. On July 21, 2024, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 3300 block of W. Pentagon Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Patrick Lee Island II lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, but Island was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. The investigation is ongoing and will be documented under case number 111594-2024. Unidentified dead baby found in East Fort Worth dumpster
FORT WORTH — A baby was found dead in an apartment complex dumpster on Sunday evening, Fort Worth police say.The unidentified baby was found in a dumpster at La Hacienda Apartments on the 4700 block of Norma Street. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has not released any information on the age or sex of the child. Fort Worth police say no arrests have been made, and they have not released any identification for the child. Neighbor Linda Simcox said she's angry and grieving the loss of the unknown child."Putting a baby in the dumpster. That is very ridiculous," Simcox said. "I mean, the baby has a life too."There are resources in Texas where anyone can drop off a child safely under the Baby Moses Law: a fire department, hospital, or freestanding emergency room. According to Safe Haven guidelines posted by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, the child must be younger than 60 days old and unharmed.

DALLAS, Texas — Four Dallas firefighters were injured after a fire truck drove off Interstate 345 onto DART tracks below the roadway, officials said. The incident occurred just after 6 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 345 and South Good Latimer Expressway. The four firefighters were transported to Baylor University Medical Center and are in stable condition, officials said.
Motorcycle rider killed in Dallas crash; two people charged
On July 19, 2024 at about 8:45 PM, Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to an accident call at Southwell Road and Harry Hines Boulevard. The preliminary investigation determined a motorcycle occupied by two individuals was traveling northbound on Harry Hines Boulevard. A 20-year-old man was driving a truck southbound on Harry Hines Boulevard when he turned left on Southwell Road and crashed into the motorcycle.
Retail thieves arrested in Colleyville with $10,000 in stolen goods
COLLEYVILLE, Texas — Two suspects were arrested by Colleyville police while attempting to steal skincare and beauty products from local retailers. The suspects targeted multiple stores across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex before being apprehended by Colleyville Detectives and Patrol Officers, according to the Colleyville Police Department. A search of their vehicle revealed more than $10,000 in stolen skincare and beauty products, a 9mm pistol with an extended magazine, and a fictitious paper license plate.
Porch pirate caught on camera swiping package from Mansfield home
The Mansfield Police Department is asking the public for help finding a thief caught on camera stealing packages from a home earlier this month. The police department posted surveillance images on social media on Saturday, showing a man stealing two packages from a home in the 900 block of Hiltron Drive. Authorities also shared a photo of the porch pirate's vehicle.
