Dallas County Health Officials Announce West Nile Virus in Carrollton Mosquito Samples, Ground Spraying Planned
Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) has confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) in two mosquito samples from Carrollton. The positive samples were found in mosquito management areas 3A and 5A, with area 3A bounded by West Hebron Parkway and several major roads including the Sam Rayburn Tollway, and area 5A lying between Trinity Mills Road and North Josey Lane. In response, Carrollton Animal Services is set to conduct ground-based insecticide spraying on July 2 and 3, starting around 9 p.m., weather conditions permitting, as reported by the City of Carrollton, Texas.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – UT Arlington's Nitisha Manikandesh was named to the 2023-24 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars List announced on Tuesday. Dallas man caught smuggling immigrants in McLennan County indicted by grand jury
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Dallas man arrested in April on charges he was smuggling four immigrants from Mexico to Dallas was indicted Tuesday. Guillermo Ramirez Hernandez, 46, was charged by a McLennan County grand jury with four counts of smuggling of persons. Three of the charges are third-degree felonies, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. A fourth count is a second-degree felony, with a penalty up to 20 years, because it alleges Hernandez was trying to smuggle a person younger than 18.
