    2024-05-07

It’s Spring Book Sale Time. May has arrived, the grass is green, the daffodils are appearing, and it’s time get ready for some relaxing reading. Friends of the Grand Rapids Area Public Library are ready to help and are holding a pop-up book sale on Monday, May 13th in the community room of the library. Hours for the sale run from 10 - 6 p.m.

The sale will include Young Adult and Children's books as well as puzzles and games. Mystery and suspense as well as romance and general fiction will be on display. There is a selection of large-print books. This is a perfect way to stock the cabin or camper for summer reading.

New to this sale is a collection of vintage books, classic novels and poetry, some children’s favorites, history and handbooks. This is a chance to revisit your past or that of your grandmother. Some books may be valuable antiques, some just a peek into the past.

All of the books are gently-used and have been donated. Some of the books are like new and could be used as gifts. Inspiring thoughts for a graduate or another special occasion? If you don’t find what you are looking for at the special sale, the regular Friends Book Store will be open for added browsing. The book store, managed by volunteers, is open any time the library is open. The store offers an ever-changing selection of fiction and non-fiction books.

Proceeds from the sale and the book store go to support programs and special projects at the library. Friends have a special commitment to the Children’s Library including some of its community programming. The sale is cash or check only.
