Chino Valley school district sues Gov. Newsom over California's new gender-identity law
A San Bernardino County school district involved in an ongoing legal battle with the state over the district's gender-identity policy sued Gov. Last night, the Morongo Valley non-profit Rawson Road Improvement held their second official meeting in Covington Park’s Mesquite Room. The objective: to offer information to residents about moving forward with a special roads district to maintain hard to navigate roads with help from San Bernardino County Public Works Special Districts.
117 Bloomington homes to be demolished to make way for development
Residents of a rural town in San Bernardino County are being evicted to make way for the development of an upcoming industrial business park. Bloomington residents are protesting the construction of the 213-acre business park that they say is pushing community members out of their homes. Already, homes in the area planned for construction have been demolished and those who’ve been evicted tell NBC4 they feel property owners are letting developers take over their neighborhoods.

Rosaura Valenzuela, who wants to be a bilingual educator, is the recipient of the first-ever Spanish Bilingual Outstanding Student Award. Jordi Solsona-Puig, the co-coordinator of the Spanish Bilingual Authorization Program, presented the award to Valenzuela during the credential ceremony in the spring for Cal State San Bernardino’s James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education.
Law enforcement warns of ‘hugging robbers’ in Southern California
(From KTLA) While two people have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in Orange County earlier this month, authorities are warning Southern Californians to be vigilant of approaching strangers who appear to want a hug. Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in Rancho Santa Margarita on July 2 after a victim reported the robbery attempt. The man told authorities that a male driver parked his vehicle in front of his driveway while a female passenger exited the suspect car, approached him with arms out for a hug and attempted to forcibly rob him of a gold chain around his neck.

Join the Museum of Riverside at the opening of its centennial exhibition, Dear Riverside, a letter to our first love. This landmark exhibition, 100 years in the making, will be on view from July 25, 2024, to January 5, 2025, at the Center for Social Justice & Civil Liberties (CSJ&CL).
