Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed Added To Major List

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed enjoyed a very impressive rookie campaign last season, hauling in 64 receptions for 793 yards and eight touchdowns.

Could he be preparing to take an even bigger leap in 2024?

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com thinks so, as Brooks named Reed to his “2024 NFL All-Breakout Team.”

Brooks loves Reed’s prowess as a vertical threat and thinks that the rapport he and Jordan Love developed last season should multiply this fall.

“Reed earned Jordan Love’s trust during a fine rookie season that put the former second-rounder on the radar as a potential No. 1 option in Green Bay,” Brooks wrote. “These two should make even sweeter music in their second season together.”

The Packers’ receiving corps is very deep

Reed may very well possess the capability to post big numbers, but will he be able to do it with the Packers?

Let’s remember that going into last season, Reed was not viewed as Green Bay’s No. 1 receiver. That title belonged to Christian Watson, who ended up missing a good chunk of the year due to injuries.

Not only that, but Reed will also have to contend with Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks for targets in 2024. Heck, you can probably even include Bo Melton and tight end Luke Musgrave, as well.

As you can see, the Packers are absolutely littered with weapons up and down the roster. It’s a cushy situation for Love, but it may not be ideal for a player who wants to register an eye-popping stat-line.

That being said, Reed did lead Green Bay in catches and receiving yards and was tied for the team lead in receiving scores in 2023, so it stands to reason that he could very well end up posting a 1,000-yard campaign this coming season.

Reed, who played his collegiate football at Michigan State, was selected by the Packers in the second round of the NFL Draft last spring.

He actually only managed to put together a single 100-yard performance this past year, which came in Week 17 when he logged four catches for 112 yards in a win over the Chicago Bears.

We’ll see if Jayden Reed can post bigger outings more consistently in 2024.

Green Bay will kick off its regular season when it heads to Brazil to battle the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 6.
