Packers Coaches Reveal What Jordan Love Has Focused On

There has been a lot of focus this offseason on Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love. However, a majority of that conversation has been about his impending contract extension.

How much will the Packers pay Jordan Love? The longer they wait the higher the price tag is going to go as the quarterback market boomed again this offseason. Both sides are motivated to get a deal done, as before training camp was discussed as a soft deadline.

That would be ideal for both sides, as it would be one less distraction to worry about. There is plenty of other storylines that can be discussed, such as if the end of the 2023 season was a fluke for the team.

Down the stretch of the regular season and in the postseason, Jordan Love looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. What has he been doing to prepare for an encore in 2024?

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur recently spoke about what the emphasis for Jordan Love has been this offseason. Getting his mechanics down, especially with his lower body, has been the focus.

“But what we’re making a big emphasis on is [having] perfect feet,” LaFleur said. “Making sure the guys go through their progressions, having perfect feet. And when they’re not, they hear about it. I just think, again, offseason, where we’re at, new defense, it’s important for them to understand the drops that we want them to take, so we implemented it.”

Helping Jordan Love take his game to another level actually led to LaFleur changing things for the Packers during the offseason program. Previously, he didn’t like doing 7-on-7 work, as he didn’t think it was authentic football.

But, as he noted about footwork drills, the 7-on-7 work is an ideal time to work that out. Teams are going to bring different looks to Jordan Love in his second season as the starter and he needs to be as prepared as possible.

Getting his footwork improved will only help him take his game to the next level. If the fundamentals are in place, the natural talent that Jordan Love possesses will take over and help the team produce offensively.
