The Green Bay Packers were the youngest team in the NFL during the 2023 season. In what would be a rare feat to accomplish, there is a chance that they retain that title for the 2024 campaign as well.

Up and down the roster, the Green Bay Packers are loaded with young emerging talent. They have done a great job of restocking the team in recent seasons, transitioning from the Aaron Rodgers era into the Jordan Love era.

Over at ESPN, Aaron Schatz recently put together a piece highlighting the young talent on every roster. Using September 1st, 2024 as the cutoff date, he evaluated every player who will be under 25 years of age by that date.

In 2023, the Green Bay Packers came in at No. 17 on this list. Heading into 2024, they have made a considerable jump up, as Schatz now has them ranked at No. 9.

They may not have a Justin Jefferson leading the way, but there is a lot of talent to keep an eye on. As Schatz noted, the abundance of under 25 players on the roster helped boost their ranking.

“The Packers have an absurd number of players under 25 who came out with a small amount of value. Similar to our ranking of the 2023 rookie classes in January, the Packers are high because of quantity more than quality … though all that quantity means there’s potential for a lot of quality,” Schatz wrote.

The one blue-chip player that the Green Bay Packers have based on Schatz’s criteria is wide receiver Jayden Reed. A second-round pick out of Michigan State in the 2023 NFL Draft, he quickly made his presence felt on the field.

“The 24-year-old Reed, who led the Packers with 793 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns last season, is the only young Packers player who qualified as a “blue chip.” However, most of the rest of the Packers’ receiving corps has under-25 value,” Schatz wrote.

Christian Watson is the only wide receiver of prominence on the team who graduated off the list. Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks and Malik Heath all present the Green Bay Packers with a value under 25.

Along the offensive line, two of the team’s standouts for the exercise were Rasheed Walker and Jordan Morgan. Walker, a 24-year-old seventh-round pick in 2022, could be their starting left tackle again.

Defensively, the team has some potential blue-chip prospects. This is the last year Quay Walker will be in the mix, but 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness is a rising player.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers came away with two immediate contributors in the second round. Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and safety Javon Bullard could be featured for years to come, as they are 22 and 21 years old, respectively.
