Jordan Love, Packers Agree To Massive Extension

The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jordan Love have agreed to a four-year, $220 million extension, his agency, Athletes First, NFL Network 's Ian Rapoport on Friday (July 26).

"Sources: #Packers QB Jordan Love has agreed to a 4-year extension worth $220M, which makes him the highest paid QB in NFL history despite only starting 1 full season. Deal was negotiated by David Mulugheta and Andrew Kessler of @AthletesFirst ," Rapoport wrote on his X account.

Love's annual salary of $55 million ties Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars for the highest among all NFL quarterbacks. The move was reported hours after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa , another Athletes First client, agreed to a four-year, $212.4 million extension.

"What a day for QBs. First Tua. Now Jordan Love," Rapoport added.

Love's reported agreement came days after general manager Brian Gutekunst revealed that the quarterback planned to holdout until the two sides reached a new deal, with Gutekunst showing optimism at the time.

"I feel we're close," Gutekunst said via Schneidman. "Not unexpected and we'll work to get it done. Hopefully he won't miss too much time."

Love, 25, was selected by the Packers in the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft as the heir to quarterback Aaron Rodgers and took over as the team's starter in 2023 after the franchise granted Rodgers' request to be traded to the New York Jets last offseason. The former Utah State standout had a breakout season in 2023, throwing for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading the Packers to a 9-8 record during the regular season, as well as 466 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in two playoff games.
