A man allegedly led troopers on a pursuit in Franklin County over the weekend as they tried to serve him with an arrest warrant in connection with intimidating and stalking a Dover Township woman, according to state police and court records.

State police used legal intervention to terminate the pursuit on Saturday evening, and 43-year-old Brett D. Crone of Antrim Township was taken into custody, a news release states.

"In the process of taking Crone into custody, a single round was discharged from a Trooper's pistol," the release states.

Crone suffered a minor injury, the release states. No troopers were injured.

Crone is being held in Franklin County Prison on the York County warrant, the release states.

Ex-boyfriend left threatening voicemail messages: police

Northern York County Regional Police arrested Crone in mid-July and charged him with strangulation by applying pressure to the throat or neck, simple assault and harassment. He was released on $2,500 bail, but he was prohibited from having any contact with his ex-girlfriend, according to court records.

On July 27, the woman reported to police that her ex-boyfriend threatened her through voicemail messages, an affidavit of probable cause states.

"Somebody burned down your truck, so what else do you want to happen next, you want your parent's house to burn down?" one of the voicemails states, according to the affidavit.

An officer saved all of the recordings. Crone sounded highly intoxicated and was slurring his speech, police said.

Police had responded to the woman's home two days earlier for a vehicle fire, the affidavit states. It is under investigation.

Suspect crumpled PFA order: court records

The woman also had obtained a protection from abuse order, which state police served on him, the affidavit states.

State police reported that Crone crumpled it up and told troopers "they better bring more guys the next time," the affidavit states.

Police allege he violated the order less than an hour later by texting "I'm sorry" to his ex-girlfriend, the affidavit states.

Police obtained an arrest warrant in connection with the following charges: intimidating a witness/victim — withholding testimony, stalking — repeatedly communicating to cause fear, terroristic threats, and harassment.
