LEDYARD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Ledyard Police arrest a Groton woman who they say they found asleep behind the wheel of a running car.

Police say they found Jenna Sforza, 37, of Groton, asleep behind the wheel of a Jeep Wrangler parked at the gas pumps of the Henny Penny Convenience Store on Route 12 in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard.

During the interaction, the operator showed signs of impairment and admitted to using heroin. She was arrested after a standardized field sobriety test.

A search of the vehicle revealed suspected narcotics.

Sforza was charged with DUI and possession of narcotics before being released on a $5,000.00 bond, with a court date set for July 16, 2024 at New London Superior Court.
