Webb delivers $120,000 to Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Improvements are coming to The Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) in Ithaca. KTC is getting a DASNY grant for several infrastructure projects to enhance the space. Producing Artistic Director Emily Jackson credits State Senator Lea Webb, who encouraged KTC to seek funding in late 2023, and dropped the $120,000 check off in Ithaca on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Cortland County sheriff launches website, smartphone app
CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — A local law enforcement agency has a new website. Sheriff Mark Helms says CortlandCountySheriffNY.com includes a sex offender registry, inmate search, and the county’s most wanted criminals. A smartphone app has also launched, which Helms says will keep Cortland County residents and visitors connected and informed.
Ithaca Ballet holding auditions for 2024-25 season

NEW YORK (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will have a book out next winter that draws in part upon his own life and religious faith for what he calls a “warning” about antisemitism. Truxton FD rescues man at Tinker Falls
TRUXTON, NY (CortacaToday) – A 22-year-old man is recovering after suffering a fall in Cortland County. The Truxton Fire Department was called to Tinker Falls on Sunday, August 11, 2024, for a report of someone down with multiple injuries. When authorities reached the base of the falls, the unnamed man reportedly could not tell them how long he had been there, but he was last heard from around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
