2 Alexandrians in Paris for the Summer Olympics
Alexandria native and T.C. Williams (now Alexandria City High School) grad Noah Lyles is heading to the Olympics, again. Lyles already has an Olympic medal (Bronze in the 200m in the 2020 Toyko Olympics, which were in 2021 due to the global coronavirus pandemic). This year's Summer Olympics in Paris start Friday, July 26.
Help these DC Little Leaguers continue their historic seasons
WASHINGTON — It's been a historic year for Capitol Hill Little League. All three teams (12U, 11U and 10U) won their respective divisions and are DC champs. Now, Capitol Hill Little League is trying to represent the District at the Little League World Series. The younger teams are heading to Massachusetts and Rhode Island to play in regional tournaments, while the 12U team goes to Bristol, Connecticut.
Local Youth All-Star Baseball Team Plays in Regional Tourney for First Time Beginning July 16; Winner Advances to Cal Ripken World Series
ALEXANDRIA, VA-Watching kids play baseball is watching the sport in its purest form. Beginning this Tuesday (July 16), the Pioneer Youth Baseball League will host the All-Star Southeast Regional Tournament. The league is part of the Cal Ripken Division of the Babe Ruth League. This tournament is the largest for the 10-year-old age group in the Southeastern US. Games will be played through July 21 in the Fairfax County part of Alexandria at Clermont Park (4100 Franconia Rd).
