Teens Trapped in Car after 2-Vehicle Crash
Two sisters from Thayer, Kansas were transported to the hospital in Salina after a two vehicle crash on I-135. According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, on Saturday around 3:50pm northbound traffic had slowed near the Assaria exit as a wrecker was assisting a motorist on the shoulder of the road with a flat tire.
Unauthorized burn pile fire destroys shed and damages camper in Saline County
An unauthorized fire sparked a blaze that engulfed a shed and damaged a nearby property in the 1800 block of Old 40 Highway Monday evening. At 5:15 p.m. yesterday evening, a Saline County Sheriff's Deputy on patrol spotted smoke in the vicinity of where the fire was located. When the deputy arrived on the scene, they found a shed fully engulfed.

A domestic argument that began in a vehicle – ends with the arrest of a woman’s boyfriend at a Salina fast food restaurant. Police Captain Jim Feldman tells KSAL News that officers were sent to the Traveler’s Lodge Motel on South Broadway Saturday morning around 10:15am after a woman was seen running from a car that appeared to be chasing her in the parking lot.
Saline County Sheriff’s Office Teams with Othram to Identify a 2021 Doe
In April 2021, the skeletal remains of an unidentified individual were discovered by a group of friends hunting for mushrooms in a wooded area just west of the city of Salina in Saline County, Kansas. As they walked between the railroad track and a water-filled creek, the group came across the remains and called local law enforcement. During the investigation, more remains were found along with a dilapidated tent, which looked like it had been left over from the winter season. A search of the area was done by members of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office along with cadaver dogs and their handlers, but nothing more could be found.
