The Marysville American Legion baseball team has clinched a spot in the 2024 Kansas American Legion Class AA State Baseball Tournament in Concordia. Marysville, seeded 7th, will enter the tournament with a 17-14 record and will play their first game against the 2nd seed Hiawatha, which has a record of 26-10. The game is scheduled for Friday at 2:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Classic Country 1570 AM & 94.1 FM KNDY in the Marysville area, as well as kndyclassic.com and the free Classic Country KNDY mobile app.

Two Arrested for Narcotics Near Riverton
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office arrests two men on narcotics charges. Deputies served a narcotics-related search warrant on a Riverton home Monday, July 22, 2024. Arrested at the scene were 33-year-old Matthew Haynes and 41-year-old Brandon Lewis. During the course of the search, deputies found narcotics along with drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution. Both men were transported to the Cherokee County Jail in Columbus.
