ShopRite is completely revamping one of its stores in central New Jersey, according to a new redevelopment plan proposed by officials. Holmdel-based Saker ShopRites, which owns and operates 39 ShopRite stores in Central Jersey and along the Jersey Shore, initially proposed building a brand new ShopRite in the parking lot of an existing store in Freehold Township.
Boat Point Drive targeted for overhaul
POINT PLEASANT — Boat Point Drive, which has been hit with significant flooding and damage since Superstorm Sandy, will be substantially renovated with new flooding and damage mitigation measures thanks to a $199,000 grant from federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). New inlets, manholes and tide flex valves as well as raising of the road at a location approximately 150 feet from the intersection of Bay Isle Drive on Boat Point Drive in the Bay Head Shores neighborhood.

UNION, NJ - Family and friends gathered together on Saturday to celebrate the 100th birthday of longtime Union resident Mary Izzo. Izzo was born on July 17, 1924. She moved from Newark to Union in 1965. She raised five children and became a consummate volunteer, including as the town's Girl Scout troop organizer, as the leader of Troop 588 for twenty years, and as a Washington Rock Girl Scout delegate. A New Plainfield Commercial is on the Way
PLAINFIELD, NJ — At last week's Plainfield City Council meeting, the governing body voted unanimously to approve the production and airing of a new commercial. It will cost $70,000, which will be paid with Urban Enterprise Zone funds, and will hit the television channels as well as digital platforms.
