Closed Clermont County restaurant to get new owners
CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - The owners of a Clermont County restaurant that shut down in May say a sale is pending. Stone House Restaurant and Bar first opened on Ohio Pike in Pierce Township in March of 2023. Prior to the closure, the restaurant turned to social media for help but announced the end in May 2024 in a Facebook post.

Ohio's sales tax holiday increases to 10 days as back-to-school shopping ramps up
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Ohio's sales tax holiday is just around the corner and there are some changes to the annual event this year. The tax-free holiday will now last 10 days. It will begin on Tuesday, July 30th and will end on Thursday, August 8th. This is compared to just three days in previous years. Store manager of Walmart in West Chester Scott Valentine says this will make aisles less congested and easier for customers to shop.
Whiskey and cigar lounge to open in Dayton region
SPRINGBORO, Ohio (Dayton Business Journal) -- A new lounge with a focus on spirits and smokes is prepped to open by end of summer in a local city. Located on 140 S. Main St. in Springboro, 70/70 Social Club will be a new lounge that will offer a wide variety of whiskey and cigars for customers to enjoy.

SATH (Supplementary Assistance to the Handicapped) will once again sponsor the “Cutie Pie” and “Cutie Pet” contest during the Highland County Fair (Sept. 1-7). If you would like to enter your little “Cutie Pies” or your favorite “Cutie Pet,” all you need to do is submit a photograph of your child or pet, along with a $2 registration fee, to “Cutie Pie Contest,” P.O. Box 608, Lynchburg, Ohio 45142. Please include the child’s name, birth date, address and phone number with your entry. You can also bring your photo and register at the Cutie Pie Booth in the Wharton building during the fair.
