Bobby Pierce goes back-to-back in Silver Dollar Nationals prelims
BRANDON, SD (July 19, 2024) – Bobby Pierce held off a hard-charging Devin Moran in the final laps to win back-to-back with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Huset’s Speedway. Pierce was in control from the start of Friday’s 40-lap main event but a stumble in turn four allowed Moran to close in the final laps.
Police involved in standoff after shots fired in west Rapid City
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - A large law enforcement presence was called to 5200 block of Pinedale Circle after reports of gunshots were heard in the area. Police say at around 11:30 Sunday morning a person entered a home on Pinedale Circle and fired multiple rounds. The homeowners were able to escape the property with no injuries and seek shelter at a neighboring residence.

GLENWOOD, Iowa — The Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa is now underway, as the 51st installment began in Glenwood along the Missouri River Sunday morning. The 7-day RAGBRAI will take riders on a southerly route across Iowa, making overnight stops in Red Oak, Atlantic, Winterset, Knoxville, Ottumwa, and Mt. Pleasant before arriving in Burlington Saturday to dip their tires in the Mississippi River.
Suspect identified following standoff near Pinedale Elementary
RAPID CITY, S.D. - An armed suspect has been apprehended by police following a seven-hour standoff near Pinedale Elementary. At about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, law enforcement received reports of gunshots in the area of 5200 Pinedale Circle. The person responsible for the gunshots barricaded himself inside a nearby residence.
