HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Gov. Ned Lamont’s security unit will operate as normal following a shooting Saturday at a rally held by former president Donald Trump, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police, however, said heightened security measures will be in place inside and around the Connecticut State Capitol Complex for “the foreseeable future.”

Trump was at a rally in Pennsylvania when the gunshots rang out, and was then rushed off the stage with blood on his face. The Secret Service has said in a statement that Trump is “safe.” Further details on his condition have not been released.
