Herington man hospitalized following semi crash on I-70

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Herington man was rushed to a hospital after his car was hit by a semi-truck on Interstate 70 in Dickinson County on Wednesday.

The crash happened around 5:16 a.m. Wednesday on westbound I-70, roughly a mile and a half west of Fair Road near Abilene.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a 19-year-old Herington man was stopped in his Chevrolet Cruze in the right lane when a Wellington man driving a semi-truck crashed into him.

The Herington man was rushed to a Wichita hospital in suspected serious condition. The driver of the semi was uninjured.

The KHP did not mention why the Herington man was stopped.
