    Two arrested after attempted ATM theft leads to pursuit

    UPDATE 7/3/24 4:27 p.m.: Two suspects have been named in the arrest for attempting to break into an ATM on Tuesday morning.

    According to a probable cause statement, Chauncey Lane Jr. of Kansas City and Lonell Lane, 22, have been both arrested for alleged charges of stealing, property damage, tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

    HICKORY COUNTY, Mo. — Two people have been arrested after attempting to break into an ATM and leading deputies on a chase into two other counties.

    According to a Facebook post from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), deputies with the Hickory County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) spotted a van trying to break into an ATM in Hermitage.

    The van took off, and led deputies into Camden, and then Dallas counties before spike strips were used to disable the van.

    DCSO said two people were arrested and taken to the Hickory County Jail.
