CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A construction project in the NewBo neighborhood is disrupting local businesses as crews prepare to repave the entirety of 16th Avenue Southeast. Right now, work is being done on the intersection of 16th and 3rd Street, but work is expected to continue down the road into the fall.
Cedar Rapids proposes new downtown parking garage
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - On July 23rd, the Cedar Rapids City Council will hold a hearing on a proposal to build a new parking garage in the downtown area. The garage would cost an estimated $20,000,000 and would be located at 1st St. SW and 1st Ave. West downtown near Big Grove and Pickle Palace.
City leaders break ground on new mixed-use development in downtown Ely
ELY, Iowa — A new mixed-use development is coming to the City of Ely. It's called "Main Street Legacy". City leaders there broke ground Monday afternoon for the $7 million project. Right now, that project calls for both affordable housing -- and storefronts -- on the corner of Dows Street and Main Street in the downtown area.
