Summers County ARH Hospital is hosting a low-dose C.T. lung cancer screening awareness event this Saturday.

To qualify for this screening, you must be 50-77 years old, have a tobacco smoking history of at least 20 pack-years, currently smoke or have quit smoking within the last 15 years.

Medical Imaging Director, Jeremy Willis told 59News, “Especially in the state of West Virginia, we’ve got the highest rate of smoking in the United States and it’s very important for people that are long term smokers to get this screening done so we can catch things early.”

This awareness event lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024. The first 5 participants will receive gift bags and gift cards. Pre-registration is required.

Screenings at Summers County ARH also occur on regular days from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, the staff is flexible and will work with you if you reach out to them.
