Six Flags Over Georgia announces new chaperone policy
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Six Flags Over Georgia & Hurricane Harbor have announced a new chaperone policy for its younger guests. Guests ages 15 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to or remain in the park after 4 p.m. daily. The park says that it is also reserving the right to enforce the rule earlier in the day if needed.
Cobb County Water System Reports 340 Gallon Sewage Overflow
The Cobb County Water System reported an estimated 340 gallon wastewater sewer overflow occurred on July 19. The overflow, resulting from grease, occurred at 1355 Hearthstone Way in Acworth and discharged into a tributary to Tate Creek. The Water System was notified of the overflow on July 19 at 5:25 p.m. and the overflow was stopped on July 19 at 8:15 p.m. Water System employees upon arrival observed a manhole spilling with the lid secured. The escaping sewage left a 5-foot by 30-foot gray trail that entered the tributary. After using a jet machine to unstop the sewer line, the crew spread lime on the affected area.
