HPD investigates one fire report
One fire was reported to the Holbrook Police Department during the period of July 9-16, according to dispatcher reports. At 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, officers responded to a vehicle fire on West Hopi Drive near the I-40 285 Exit. According to the report, the incident was initially reported as a brush fire and when officers arrived, they saw a vehicle in the middle of the brush fire. The Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the flames. No occupants were at the scene and the vehicle, identified as a white SUV, had no VIN or license plate for identification. The vehicle was towed and the incident remains under investigation.
Sheriff’s Areas One and Two report
The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity in Areas 1 and 2 during the period of July 7-13. Areas 1 and 2 include Joseph City, Woodruff, Sun Valley, Goodwater, Adamana, unincorporated areas of Winslow and Holbrook, and parts of the Navajo and Hopi reservations that are located within the boundaries of Navajo County. Persons who were cited, charged or arrested by deputies are accused of committing criminal activity, but such accusations should raise no inference of guilt.
