    Little League: 8-10 Baseball state championship on the line at Back Mountain Little League

    Hollidaysburg scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Council Rock Newtown 4-3 Friday in the elimination bracket finals of the 8-10 Little League Baseball state tournament at the Back Mountain Little League.

    Hollidaysburg will play undefeated Ridley Area at 5 p.m. Saturday at Back Mountain. A Hollidaysburg win would force a a decisive game for the state championship at 1 p.m. Sunday also at Back Mountain.

    Sam Mikolajczyk singled in Kolton Wertz with the winning run. Wertz reached base on his second double of the game.

    Mikolajczyk laos had an RBI in the first inning along with Ronan Diehl.

    James Esposito had an RBI in the first inning for Council Rock Newtown.

    CORRECTION

    Ben Nulton made the diving catch in center field for Back Mountain National in its game-ending double play in a 4-2 win over Tri-Town on Thursday in the Major Baseball state tournament at Newville Little League.

    Nick Federici was mistakenly identified as making the catch by the announcers on the internet broadcast.
