The Stages of MN Calls Great River Shakespeare Festival Destination Theater More Than Worth the Trek
The Stages of MN writes about the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, MN, as a must-visit theater event, showcasing “Hamlet” and “Much Ado About Nothing” this year. Reviewer Rob Dunkelberger praises the festival’s unique offerings, including pre-show Green Shows, post-show discussions, and various youth programs. The “Hamlet” production is especially highlighted for its intense, supernatural elements and strong performances, particularly by Tarah Flanagan as Hamlet. “Much Ado About Nothing” receives commendation for its modern setting and dynamic portrayal of Beatrice and Benedict by Melissa Maxwell and Will Sturdivant. “This is hands down the best production of Hamlet I’ve seen on stage,” Dunkelberger states.
