House Vacant For Around 20 Years in the City of Cortland Looks to be Torn Down, Replaced With New Residence
A house that has been vacant after a structure fire back in 2004 and deemed unsafe to live in finally looks to be demolished and new life given to the property right in the heart of the City of Cortland. The vacant house located at 4 Monroe Heights looks to be demolished and replaced with a brand new 2 unit residential building.
Sidewalk work begins on Main Street; other project updates included
Construction crews have begun sidewalk work on Main Street in Cortland, along with other projects. According to an update from Crown City Rising, crews began pouring sidewalks on the west side of Main Street between Clinton Avenue and Court Street, along with road grading in that area on the east side of the street.

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A new WellNow Urgent Care location is now open in Cortland. The full-service urgent care center will provide evaluation and treatment for a full range of non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, as well as occupational medicine services. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, patients can walk in or, if preferred, reserve a time online.
Multiple Projects Happening on Groton Ave. – Street Restricted to Local Traffic Only
There are multiple projects happening along Groton Ave. in the City of Cortland as part of the ongoing reconstruction project for the street. According to Crown City Rising, construction crews are continuing their work installing stormwater piping from Main Street and proceeding westwards. During this time, all traffic is restricted to local traffic only. Motorists are asked to utilize the posted detour signage.
