HOOVER, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Thirty-One 32 Cypress apartments in Hoover have been without water for four days.

Those that live there say they have been trying to get in contact with management at the complex and have been left without answers. Last Thursday, the EMBA Management Group sent a notice to some informing them of a water outage that would last three to four hours. Residents who spoke with CBS 42 say the water shut off around 10 a.m. Friday and they’ve been without it since.

“We’re having to try and buy water and rag bath just to get the sweat off because of how hot it is,” said MiAngel Grace Cassels, who lives at the building with her husband and dog.

Without running water Cassels hasn’t been able to use her shower, toilet, or sink since Friday. She says no one who lives in the building has been able to contact management about when the water will be restored.

“There has been no word from anybody from the leases, I have tried to leave messages and emails, and also one of my neighbors didn’t even receive the letter that I received,” added Cassels.

CBS 42 spoke to leasing agents at the apartment complex, they say they do not know anything about the water issues or who owns the property. They also could not provide any information about the crew we saw working on the burst pipe.

The leasing agents said they did not know who the crew was or who hired them to complete the work. At 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, CBS 42 was informed by a man who appeared to be working with the repair crew that the water was turned back on. A CBS 42 news crew went to Cassels apartment to verify this and found the water was still shut off.

“It’s like you are paying for services just for them to not be here, even though water is a necessity,” remarked Cassels.

CBS 42 did speak with Birmingham Water Works today which supplies water to the property, they say water service on their end is still active to the complex, any repairs that need to be made must be done by the property owner.
