After Friday night at Bloomington only 2 heats were ran then the storms came so Sunday was the rain date and 39 cars entered the gates to put on another classic. Coming out early in qualifying the #69 of Brady Bacon turned an 11.755 and looked strong to add to his win from Terre Haute. This would be an early quick time and it would hold on for the top spot. Following Brady in the top 6 were Ricky Lewis 11.802, Logan Seavey 11.922, Kyle Cummins 11.940, Daison Pursley 11.996 and Max Adams 12.009. This setup the 4 heat format taking the top 5 from each and the Semi would take 4 to the main event. Heat race 1 Stephen Schnapf would least the first 2 laps but it was Daison Pursley on a mission from the 5th starting point to take the lead before half way. The was bad luck for the 39 of Schnapf as he blew a right rear Hoosier going into turn while running in the 3rd spot. On the restart Daison was very strong and held on for the win over Justin Grant, Brady Bacon, Mitchel Moles and Frankie Guerrini. Heat race 2 was another loaded field as Matt Westfall took the early lead but at the halfway point the 2B of Kale Drake who was running 4th blew a tire in turn 4. On the restart another scary incident as Chance Crum had a scary tumble off of turn 2 launching over another car’s tire. Thankfully Chance was okay but the car would be done for the night. On the last restart here came the 3R car as KT Jr. was on the move from 4th and would take the big win over Matt Westfall, Joey Amantea, Braden Fox and Sam Hinds. Heat race 3 maybe the most wild of the night. Jadon Rogers would take the early lead and that would get the crowd super excited. This would get even more wild halfway through the heat because some local favorites were headed to the front after Jadon. The 24M Hunter Maddox who was a previous Bloomington Speedway rookie of the year was on a mission and he would make a strong pass for the lead and would secure his 1st Ucac National Heat Race win. Following Hunter at the line it was Chase Stockon, Loan Seavey, Jadon Rogers and Briggs Danner. The final heat started with contact as the 15x of CJ Leary made contact with the 16 of Harley Burns. On the restart CJ took the lead and won it over Robert Ballou, Shane Cottle, Rylan Gray and Kyle Cummins. This setup the last chance to get in the main with the B main. Ricky Lewis ran a smooth B main and would win it over Max Adams, Weston Gorham and Kobe Simpson. Carson Garrett flipped off of turn 2 ending his sprint week night.

Nickolas Hovey picked off these drivers with ease on his charge to the front. Also working his way through the field, Evan Bourgeois was making use of the bottom groove to advance position, finding himself in second by lap 18 when a caution racked the field giving him a quick shot at the lead. Bourgeois sent his car into turn 1 making contact with Hovey, who was able to hang on as he settled into third. As Hovey was trying to find his way back to the lead, Jake Hines threw his hat in the ring giving him a run for his money in second. Hovey was able to clear after a lengthy battle and start his pursuit. Another caution afforded Hovey the opportunity to swipe back the top spot, until a failed crossover by Bourgeois sent them both to the rear with just ten laps on the board. Barry and Gomarlo were now in control of the field with John O’Sullivan hot on their tail, but Gomarlo gave it everything he had to win his second race of the season.
