    Houston Police: Officers investigate report of parental kidnapping

    ​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

    Between May 13 and May 19, the Houston Police Department answered 225 calls for service and initiated 57 traffic stops resulting in 16 citations and 58 warnings.

    • On May 13, officers investigated a truancy issue at the Houston R-1 School District. A report will be forwarded to the Texas County Juvenile Office for review.
    • On May 13, Rebecca L. Buckland, 23, of Licking, was issued a citation for passing a school bus while loading/unloading passengers.
    • On May 14, officers investigated a report of parental kidnapping. The child was later returned and a report will be forwarded to the Texas County Prosecuting Attorney.
    • On May 15, officers responded to the 300 block of W. Mill Street for a domestic dispute. A 60-year-old female was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail. A report was forwarded to the Texas County Prosecutor for formal charges of Assault 3 rd Degree (Special Victim) and Resisting Arrest.
    • On May 16, officers responded to a road sign being struck by a vehicle near the Houston R-1 School. An unknown vehicle struck the sign and then left the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
    • On May 18, officers arrested Thomas E. Williams, 40, of Waynesville, on an active Howell County warrant per charge failure to appear on the original charges of driving while revoked, failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to display plates on a motor vehicle. Williams was transported to the Texas County Jail, where he was attempting to post the $1,500 bond.
    • On May 19, a 43-year-old male was arrested for DWI-Persistent following a traffic stop. A report will be forwarded to the Texas County Prosecutor for formal charges.
