Houston Texans' underrated weapon is already showing out at training camp on day one

The Houston Texans made a plethora of moves this offseason. They grabbed Stefon Diggs to pair with Tank Dell and Nico Collins, giving them the best trio of wide receivers in the league. Then, they signed Danielle Hunter, one of the best pass rushers in the league, along with Denico Autry and Azeez Al-Shaair.

But one of the moves they also made which may be one of the more significant ones of this offseason, isn't getting talked about much. Sure, the wide receiver room along with C.J. Stroud is the flashy, popular thing to talk about. But, it seems like Joe Mixon, the former Cincinnati Bengals running back is becoming, shall I say, underrated?

He isn't getting talked about at all outside of Houston. And, that's fine. People seem to think that he is past his prime. But, he is far from it. I won't say he will have his best season ever with the Texans, because they are so many mouths to feed in this offense, but he will be a huge part of the success of this team in 2024.

And, he is already showing out at training camp on the first day. The Texans posted a video of a play where he and Stroud connected, and it was beautiful.

The Texans' biggest weakness last season was their run game. Dameon Pierce was not good, at all really, and they relied on Devin Singletary to carry the load way too often. He had some good games at the end of the year, but the run game was very poor overall. And, this offense, the Shanahan offense, is supposed to have a strong run game.

So, they went and traded for Mixon , who is an elite runner but can also catch the ball out of the backfield, adding another layer of weapons to an offense that has the potential to be the best in the league. And, we will only see that even more as training camp continues to go on.
