Texans QB Davis Mills praises star WR Stefon Diggs: 'He's making the whole team better'

Tonight the Houston Texans will be playing their first preseason game of the year in Canton, Ohio against the Chicago Bears in the annual Hall of Fame game. While Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans didn't say one way or the other if C.J. Stroud will be playing, we can pretty safely assume that Stroud won't see the field.

If that's the case then we will probably see a ton of Davis Mills playing quarterback for Houston tonight. Earlier this week we heard from Mills after practice and he heaped praise on star wide receiver Stefon Diggs , saying he's making the entire team better. Watch.

Mills has gone just 5-19-1 as a starter for Houston since he was drafted back in 2021, but to be fair the teams that he played on were far inferior to the ones that Stroud has been a part of. If there's one thing Mills needs to work on it's his accuracy, as his career completion rate is just 62.8% and he's thrown 25 interceptions to go with his 35 touchdowns. That will be one of many things to watch for.

As for Diggs, it's unlikely he or any other Texans starters will see action against the Bears. Next week's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers may be another story, though.
