USA Table Tennis Nationals arrive in the Rocket City

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The USA Table Tennis Nationals have officially arrived in the Yellowhammer state.

Competitors from 37 different states have flocked to the Rocket City to compete for the national championships, as well as the U.S. Olympic team as they make their final preparations for their trip to Paris in the coming weeks.

Lily Zhang is the veteran on this year’s Team USA for table tennis and she’s excited to be back at another Olympic games.

“I think we work really well together as a team,” Zhang said. “We played the Pan-American games all together and I think we just gel really well and I’m really looking forward to experiencing Paris with them.”

The table tennis nationals will be in the South Hall at the VBC all weekend. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. each day.
