    Pocatello Veterans Day Parade to take place in November

    POCATELLO — The Pocatello Veterans Day Parade is set to take place on Nov. 9.

    According to a news release from the Veterans of the Pocatello American Legion, the parade will be held at Caldwell Park. This year will be the third year the parade has been held.

    The parade will begin at 11 a.m. It will go through the city of Pocatello and end at Caldwell Park. Grandstand seating will be set up in the park and people are welcome to bring their own chairs as well.

    The Legion is currently accepting registrations for floats, bands and other Veteran-centered participants. Anyone interested in being part of the parade will need to complete an entry form that can be found online.

    The entry form for entering a float, band or other Veteran-centered participant can be found at pocatelloveteransdayparade.com/parade-details . All entries must be submitted by Oct. 31.

    Nominations for the Grand Marshal of the Parade are also taking place right now. Entries for nominations must be 200 words or less and can be emailed to pocatelloveteransdayparade@gmail.com. Nominations must be submitted by Oct. 15.

    In addition to the parade, the legion is holding a kids art contest. Rules for the contest can be found on the website. Entries for the art contest must be submitted by Oc. 4 at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building. There will be a first, second and third prize awarded at the parade.
