WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert recently spoke on the rise of the league, given a monster 2024 rookie class. Engelbert shared insight on who she believes has helped grow the WNBA, giving major credit to Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

"We’re marketing around all our players but Caitlin is lifting everybody," said Engelbert via Clark Report on X.

Clark and the Fever have been a part of 12 of the 13 most-viewed games this season. Their recent matchup against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky peaked at over 3 million viewers. It's clear that Clark, Reese and the rest of the class with players like Cameron Brink and Kamilla Cardoso have helped bring new viewership to the league with unprecedented numbers.

Clark currently leads the rookie class with 16.3 points and 6.6 assists per game. She's competing for the league's Rookie of the Year award, mainly against Reese, averaging 13.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

It seems the WNBA has been at the top of every news headline over the past few months and Engelbert believes it all stems from the rookie out of Iowa.
