Caitlin Clark put on an absolute show on Friday night as the Indiana Fever took down a Diana Taurasi-less Phoenix Mercury, 95-86. In the first quarter alone, the top pick in the 2024 WNBA draft dropped seven dimes to smash the franchise record for most assists in a single quarter.

The 22-year-old went on to finish the game with 13 assists to match her career high—a mark that she's reached four times in the last seven games.

However, for Fever head coach Christie Sides, there were a couple of dimes in particular that blew her away. Speaking to reporters after the game, the Indiana shot-caller had nothing but high praise for Clark's elite vision as well as her mind-blowing passes in the opening half.

“I don’t know if it’s more dynamic or— I think she just does what she does,” Sides said, via Matthew Byrne of ClutchPoints. “She’s got the ability to draw several defenders and has got a crazy eye for her teammates and where they are and moving and able to make passes that some people— in the first half my gosh, she dropped two down to some post players. I don’t know who could’ve made that pass.”

Sides did not specify which two passes she was most impressed with, which is understandable considering how many awe-inspiring dimes Clark dished out in the first half alone.

More importantly, the Fever escaped with a hard-fought victory to mark their 10th win of the season. They are now just 2.5 games behind the sixth-placed Mercury.
